The first visit is about getting to know us and our clinic. We carry out a thorough examination of the oral cavity including X-rays and review your treatment history. Based on this we propose an individual treatment plan and agree on the next steps.

Prevention is always simpler, cheaper and more effective than treating problems that have already developed. That is why we pay special attention to prevention and dental hygiene. Our dental hygienist will help you learn the correct brushing technique. Dental hygiene is an essential part of regular care and takes place twice a year, always before the preventive check-up.

If decay has already formed, we always choose a minimally invasive approach that preserves as much of the tooth as possible. We work with magnification optics and use high-quality aesthetic photocomposite materials — unlike amalgam fillings there is no need to drill away healthy tooth tissue, and they are mechanically durable even in a thin layer. They also look better.

When decay is very deep, the dental pulp (the nerve of the tooth) can be damaged. In that case the root canals need to be treated, which prevents extraction. Such treatment has to be precise — we use magnification optics and modern devices for electronic measurement of canal length, then shape and fill the canals mechanically. Teeth with treated root canals tend to be weakened and prone to fracture under chewing forces, so they usually need to be restored with an onlay or a crown. The treatment is painless, under local anaesthesia.

Larger defects are solved quickly with onlays, crowns and bridges. Our clinic uses the CEREC Primescan 3D scanner, which captures the situation in the mouth perfectly, including tooth colour and structure, with no need for unpleasant impressions. The digital 3D scan is sent to our partner laboratory, where a trained technician creates the model in software, mills the crown or bridge from a high-quality aesthetic material and finishes the shading to perfection. The greatest advantage is precision — the foundation of any prosthetic treatment and its longevity. Thanks to CEREC the whole process is also fast and efficient.

Children are welcome and we are happy to look after them. As parents you are responsible for the state of your child’s teeth, so it is important that we teach you how to care for them in time. The first dental visit should ideally take place at around one year of age. First visits are mostly about getting acquainted — we show the child the surgery, give them a ride in the chair and explain what the instruments are for, and we check the teeth. As we want to be your family dentist, we require that at least one parent is also in our care.

If a tooth cannot be saved, or in the case of a wisdom tooth, extraction may be necessary. Procedures are performed as gently as possible so that healing is as effective as possible. There is nothing to fear — surgical extractions are always performed under local anaesthesia.
